Gwern Gôf
Isaf is beautifully situated on a traditional hill-farm between
Capel Curig and Llyn Ogwen, close to the base of the well-known peak
of Tryfan. Set in the heart of the mountains Gwern Gof Isaf has a
camp site as well as bunk house and
is ideally situated for walking or climbing the surrounding peaks of
the Glyders, and the Carneddau. This site is popular with families,
groups, and individuals, and provides:
- washbasins with hot &
cold water
- toilets
- hot showers
- shaver points
- open all year
|
 |
There are 2 bunk houses.
One sleeps 16, and the other 6 people.
The bunk houses are in converted traditional farm buildings. |
Gwern Gor Isaf is perfect for outdoor activities, with climbing &
abseiling available on site. Sir John Hunt stayed here while
climbing on Tryfan in training for the ascent of Everest! The
National Mountaineering Centre at Plas-y-Brenin is only 3 miles
away, and mountain bike hire and pony trekking are available within
10 miles. The site is on the long distance 'Sustrans' cycle route,
and the bunk house is perfect for the first night stop on the
Cambrian Way long distance footpath.

The site is
ideally situated for canoeists to enjoy the many and varied
waterways and rapids of Snowdonia and North Wales - by Autumn 2003
(when it starts to get chilly again) we will have a drying room for
our guests |

The site is on
the long distance 'Sustrans' cycle route which has now been
developed from Bangor through Bethesda to Ogwen Falls - we are an
ideal stop off point |
